Player Name Specific Models/Textures

Player Name Specific Models/Textures

A resource pack that essentially uses the fact that easter egg names work on players, and the fact that easter egg names can change not only an entity’s texture, but it’s model as well. Please excuse the poor thumbnail image, I do not have the tools to make a good one.

This resource pack adds a visual effect that allows you to have a specific player have a unique model and texture that’s applied based on their username!

Included is 3 models”

  1. cursed old terraria wyvern model

hailing from a random thing I did years ago just because “It would be so cursed”, is a particularly… stubby version of the wyvern enemy from Terraria. what a goober.

2. Ashura (Sonic Boll/Boll Deluxe)

if you’ve been around long enough and like sonic games, you’ve likely heard of this glitched, green and black sonic in Sonic 2. This glitch was made into their own playable character in the fan game Boll Deluxe. (it’s a good fangame, you should check it out if you have a PC. They also have an active Discord server!) The model here takes heavy inspiration from the sonic skin in the skin pack included in the official Sonic DLC for Minecraft Bedrock.

3. Lugia (Pokemon)

This is the first model that was made specifically for this pack, and as such works the best with held items (more on that after this description!) You might have guessed from the fact that this is the only pokemon in the pack so far, or is the first one, that Lugia is my favorite pokemon.

How to Use:

Currently, this pack is set to check for my In-game username (and a slight variation), so in order for it to apply to you or someone else, you’ll need to change the name(s) specified in the player entity file at the bottom, and in the render controller that is also chosen in the same place. I needed to have it so you need to change the render controller the entity file points to, as I do not know how to make subpacks, and I want to focus on making this functional enough to use.

Known bugs:

Items tend to not actually be held in the model’s hand. This is because in order for items to not show in a “null” location, the normal model is still there for players affected by the resource pack. also, animations are not affected.

The models do not work on servers. This strangely occurs on even servers which wouldn’t normally cause conflicts. Unfortunately, this seems to be the only addon that does this that I’ve seen, and I would really like to find a fix for it as I’d be using it all the time in servers, if not for this bug. I would really like to get some help on this, if anyone knows how to fix this. (note on this: this isn’t because “player model changes don’t work on servers” because that is simply a lie. I already tested with other addons that change the player model, and those work just fine. (see: NPA (new player animation))

But anyways, feel free to just add your own models to this, as well.
