RuneCraft 1.0 – Rewritten
RuneCraft 1.0 – Rewritten
AD
CREATOR BY ESTRONGEL
RuneCraft adds complex skill systems that have never been seen in Minecraft. Drawing inspiration from MMORPG giants like Ultimate Online and Old School Runescape, this add-on creates a unique experience that overhauls how you play Minecraft!
Overview
Runecraft 1.0 Rewritten overhauls all of the existing skills, and systems, adds several new skills, implements the Prayer system, adds collectibles, new ores, music discs, and more!
Important Info:
- This add-on is designed to work on the current stable version (1.19.60) and no other version. There are new features coming in 1.19.70 that will break the functionality of much of this Add-on Scripting API features which at this point drive several systems. I will work to update the add-on every stable update to create compatibility with the changes. These updates will then make the previous stable version unusable.
- Because I use the experimental Scripting API, this add-on does not currently work on realms.
- This add-on does not work with most other add-ons as it heavily modifies several entities and loot tables for all mobs.
Please use these settings for any world created with RuneCraft:

- There are several rules that ore generation now follows:

- Coal has the same generation density in all dimensions
- Mithril, Adamant, and Rune Ore each favor a specific dimension:
- Mithril Ore density favors the Overworld
- Adamant Ore density favors the Nether
- Rune Ore density favors the End
- All other ore has scaling densities that depend on the dimension:
- Overworld ore density favors ore that can be mined at lower levels of mining and are not as valuable
- Nether ore density serves as a middle ground for middle levels of mining and are somewhat valuable
- End density favors ore that can be mined at higher levels of mining and are more valuable

Skillcapes
Skillcapes
Changes
- Skillcapes no longer provide any Vanilla Minecraft effects
- Skillcapes with innate effects (Agility Skillcape, Prayer Skillcape, Thieving Skillcape, etc.) will remain
Bug Fixes
- Skillcapes can now be repaired using another Skillcape of the same type
Party Hats
Party Hats
Party hats have had a major overhaul in how they are obtained. In the past, they were all obtainable as a chance drop from killing mobs. In Runecraft 1.0, the way to obtain party hats has been balanced around all of the skill systems in play. Each skill system is intended to have a method of obtaining a specific Party Hat.
Changes
- Party Hats are no longer only obtained through killing mobs
- Some Party Hats have been removed
- The following Party Hats are now obtainable:
- Blood Red Party Hat: Obtained as a random drop from killing mobs with a sword
- Forest Green Party Hat: Obtained as a random drop from killing mobs with a projectile
- Silver Party Hat: Obtained as a random drop mining ore
- Purple Party Hat: Obtained as a random drop from Thieving
- There are currently two party hats with no method of being obtained:
- Royal Blue Party Hat
- Dark Green Party Hat
Food System Rework
Food System Rework
Players now heal an exact amount of health as opposed to receiving a regeneration effect. Most food items that did not have extra functionality such as chorus fruit, have had their max stack size reduced to 1. This is a defining gameplay change as food will now have a much larger impact on how a player moves throughout the world. Mobs that would drop edible food now drop a stack of 1 at most, regardless of looting enchantment. Due to the nature of how Cake functions, this was not able to be included in this rework and is still unusable. I will work on finding a solution to this in the future.
Custom Commands
Custom commands are a way for players to access information quickly without needing to open up a wiki or ask a question in a discord server. Runecraft has a lot going on, so shortened descriptions on topics that may be confusing and general info on how to unlock things is an important feature. To start with, type “!help”
- Added custom commands into Runecraft Which can be used to:
- General Info about Runecraft
- See skill stats without needing an item
- Get a general description of skills
- View unlocks for skills
- View leaderboards for skills
- Select teams
- Other useful links and credits

Reworked HUD
Reworked HUD
The HUD of any game is what’s most important, with Runecraft 1.0 the HUD has been completely redesigned to show players Health, Armor, Stamina, Prayer Points, and set Prayers. With the hunger system removed, there was no longer a need for a hunger bar.
- Redesigned the entire HUD
- From left to right:
- Health orb, Armor orb, Prayer Slot 1, 2, and 3, Prayer orb, Stamina orb
- Several effects will change the color of the health orb along with a hierarchy of which effects will take priority:
- Red:
- A red orb indicates that the player has no effects that can affect their health
- Gold:
- A gold orb indicates the player has the absorption effect
- This display takes priority over all other effects
- Green:
- A green orb indicates that the player has the poison or fatal poison effects
- This display takes priority over the wither effect
- Black:
- A Black orb indicates that the player has the wither effect
- This display will be overridden by all other effects
- Red:
- The Prayer and Stamina orbs have an alternate display when they are active

Skills
Skills
The skill systems of Runecraft are what allow people to truly play the game of Minecraft differently. Several overall changes have been made to make the skill systems more rigid and definable.
Changes
- Players no longer gain XP while in creative/spectator mode
- Several Skills have been redesigned/reworked
- XP Scaling and requirements have been modified to increase the time it takes to level up
- Additional values were added to XP requirements early on to prevent players from being spammed with level up sounds
- Several new skills were added:
- Mining
- Digging
- Farming
- Woodcutting
- Several existing skills received functionality:
- Attack
- Defense
- Prayer
Agility
My goal with all skills is for players to be able to gain XP in a skill when they want to gain XP, and not constantly while moving. I disliked how nearly every player would always have Agility as their highest level skill because it took zero investment and didn’t require a player to do anything differently. As such, Agility has undergone a large rework in how XP is gained. The XP system has been reworked to use the experimental scripting API.
Changes
- Reworked the way players gain XP
- XP is no longer gained from sprinting and falling
- XP is now calculated based on the amount of fall damage and distance fell
- The Graceful Set has received several modifications
- Textures and icons of each piece have been updated
- Repairing for Graceful equipment has been optimized
- All Graceful equipment now has the equivalent armor of Leather gear
- The Stamina regeneration rate provided by the Graceful Set has been dramatically increased
Attack
Attack
Attack has had its weapon system implemented and its system has been moved to use the experimental scripting API.
- Implemented Attack skill unlocks
- Unlocks:
- Level 1: Wooden Sword
- Level 10: Bronze Sword
- Level 20: Iron & Black Sword
- Level 30: Steel Sword
- Level 40: Mithril Sword
- Level 50: Adamant Sword
- Level 60: Rune Sword
Defense
Defense
Defense has had its armor system implemented and its system has been moved to use the experimental scripting API. Additionally, hostile mobs now have a chance to spawn with Black armor, and trimmed versions of existing armor. Trimmed equipment is very rare and is purely cosmetic – no bonuses to armor or durability.
- Implemented Defense skill unlocks
- Chainmail, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite armor is no longer obtainable
- Unlocks
- Level 1: Leather equipment, Fighting, and Fancy Boots
- Level 10: Bronze equipment
- Level 20: Iron and Black equipment
- Level 30: Steel equipment
- Level 40: Mithril equipment
- Level 50: Adamant equipment
- Level 60: Rune equipment
Digging
Digging
Digging is a new skill that allows you to equip better shovels that have more durability, dig faster, and can be enchanted easier. There are currently no new blocks that can be dug with different levels of Digging, but this will likely change in the future to create a variation to XP gains and collectibles.
- Implemented Digging skill unlocks
- Level 1: Wooden Shovel
- Level 10: Bronze Shovel
- Level 20: Iron & Black Shovel
- Level 30: Steel Shovel
- Level 40: Mithril Shovel
- Level 50: Adamant Shovel
- Level 60: Rune Shovel
Farming
Farming
Farming is a new skill that allows you to equip better hoes that have more durability, harvest better crops, and can be enchanted easier. This skill is currently non functional, players cannot gain Farming XP and are locked to the default Wooden Hoe unless in Creative mode. The next major update will focus on fleshing out the Farming skill along with another new, unannounced skill.
- Implemented Farming skill unlocks
- Level 1: Wooden Hoe
- Level 10: Bronze Hoe
- Level 20: Iron & Black Hoe
- Level 30: Steel Hoe
- Level 40: Mithril Hoe
- Level 50: Adamant Hoe
- Level 60: Rune Hoe
Prayer
Prayer
Prayer is finally implemented! Its system was built using experimental scripting API. Prayers allow you to activate an assortment of buffs.
- Implemented Prayer system
- How to gain XP:
- Bury Bones, Essences, or Remains in the ground and at Gilded or Chaos Altars
- Gilded Altars:
- Yield 2x XP
- Can be crafted and placed anywhere in the world
- Chaos altars:
- Yield 3x XP
- Generate in Zamorak Temples in the Nether and are destroyed if mined
- Have a chance of inflicting the player with the wither effect
- How to select Prayers
- To select Prayers, players must interact with either a Gilded or Chaos Altar with a Prayer Book in hand
- Prayer Books are crafted using a book
- How to use the Prayer menu:
- Players must have at least 1 Prayer unlocked (Level 5 or above)
- Players can select 1 of 3 loadouts to clear, edit, or equip
- Players can have up to 3 Prayers selected in each loadout
- As Players level up their Prayer, they gain access to new Prayers
- Prayers are classified as tier 1 or tier 2 prayers, with tier 2 Prayers:
- Players can have as many tier 1 Prayers equipped as they want
- Only a single tier 2 Prayer can be equipped at any given time
- Tier 2 Prayers are stronger than tier 1 cause Prayer Points to drain more rapidly
- How to replenish Prayer:
- Prayer can be replenished by interacting with any Gilded or Chaos Altar
Mining
Mining
Mining is a new skill that allows you to equip better Pickaxes that have more durability, mine faster, can be enchanted easier, and allow you to mine new ores. To see more information on how world generation has been affected and where to mine for specific ores, see 1.0 – 2/8/2023#World Generation.
- Implemented Mining skill unlocks
- Level 1: Wooden Pickaxe
- Level 10: Bronze Pickaxe
- Level 20: Iron & Black Pickaxe
- Level 30: Steel Pickaxe
- Level 40: Mithril Pickaxe
- Level 50: Adamant Pickaxe
- Level 60: Rune Pickaxe
Woodcutting
Woodcutting
Woodcutting is a new skill that allows you to equip better Axes that have more durability, chop faster, and can be enchanted easier. Currently, all trees are able to be chopped down regardless of Axe or Woodcutting level. Future iterations may either change vanilla trees to not all be mineable at any level, add several new tree wood types that require different Woodcutting levels to chop, or a combination of these.
- Implemented Woodcutting skill unlocks
- Level 1: Wooden Axe
- Level 10: Bronze Axe
- Level 20: Iron & Black Axe
- Level 30: Steel Axe
- Level 40: Mithril Axe
- Level 50: Adamant Axe
- Level 60: Rune Axe
